Mobile Van Tyre Fitting for Commercial Vehicles and Fleets
A van standing still is a van that is not earning, so we bring the tyre, the tools and a jack rated for a loaded vehicle to your yard, your depot, or wherever on the road it has stopped.
A Van Off the Road Stops Earning
A flat on a working vehicle is not the same problem as a flat on a family car. There is a driver standing about, a load going nowhere, and a run of drops that somebody was promised for a particular part of the day. The tyre is rarely the expensive part. The lost day is.
Vans also tend to fail at the worst possible point. They are heaviest when they are fullest, and on a delivery round that is first thing. Kerbing a sidewall on a tight delivery street, picking up a screw on a building site, or wearing a rear tyre down to the marker under constant weight are all ordinary events when a vehicle works for a living rather than sitting on a driveway.
Recovering the vehicle to a garage can mean unloading it, finding the driver a lift, and writing off what is left of the shift. Mobile van tyre fitting avoids all of that. The van stays where it is, the workshop comes to it, and the only thing that changes is the tyre.
What Happens When We Reach the Vehicle
Abu Bakar or one of our mobile technicians comes out in a fully equipped van with the tyre we agreed on the call, not the nearest thing that happens to fit the rim. Most commercial vans run on commercial-specification tyres, and the difference is not cosmetic. The load index is the weight each tyre is rated to carry and the speed rating is the speed it is rated to run at, and a van that spends its life fully freighted needs both of them matched to the job.
We fit to the rating the vehicle calls for, and if what is already on it is under-rated, we will say so.
Lifting the thing is the other half of the job. A laden van sits far heavier than a car, and the corner it is lifted on takes a share of that weight no car jack was built for, which is why we carry heavy-duty commercial jacks. In most cases that means the load can stay where it is instead of coming off onto the pavement.
The new tyre is fitted and dynamically balanced at the vehicle, the nuts go back on to the correct torque, and the old tyre leaves with us.
While a wheel is off, it takes a moment to look at the rest of them. If another tyre is close to the limit or a sidewall has taken a kerb, we will point it out and give you a straight answer on whether it needs doing now or can safely wait. Sorting it in the same visit means the van stands down once rather than twice.
What comes out with the van
- Commercial-specification tyres matched to the load index and speed rating your vehicle needs
- Heavy-duty jacks for laden vans, so in most cases the load stays on board
- Dynamic wheel balancing carried out at the vehicle, not back at a garage
- Locking-nut extraction sockets when the key is lost or the nut has rounded off
- Attendance at your yard, your depot, a customer site or the hard shoulder
- The damaged tyre taken away with us when we leave
What You Pay, and When You Pay It
You get the figure before we set off. Give us the registration, the size off the sidewall and where the vehicle is standing, and we will price the tyre and the fitting on the call so you can make the decision with a number in front of you. If the wheel carries a locking nut and the key has gone astray, extraction is extra work and a charge may apply for it. That is quoted before we dispatch, never added afterwards.
Payment is taken on completion, once the tyre is on and the van is fit to move. We never ask for payment before we arrive. You can pay at the vehicle by card through our mobile terminal, which takes contactless, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Visa and Mastercard, or by bank transfer, or in cash. If you run more than one vehicle and need something handled differently, raise it when you call and we will tell you plainly what we can and cannot do rather than agree to it and work it out later.
Fitting That Works Around the Working Day
We are out around the clock, 365 days a year, which tends to matter more to a business than to anybody else. If the van has stopped mid-round, we come to it where it stopped. If it can wait until the vehicle is back on the yard, we can come to it there instead, early or late or overnight while it sits, so the wheel is dealt with before the first drop rather than in place of it.
How long we take depends on where the vehicle is. The response window for your area is shown below, honestly, by area rather than as one number for the whole coast. When you ring you speak to the technician who will be driving out to you, so you can explain what the van is carrying and how it is parked and get a realistic answer about when we can be with you.

Where We Come Out To
We are based in Southampton and cover Southampton, Hamble-le-Rice, Winchester, the New Forest, Salisbury, Bournemouth and Chichester. That takes in the trade estates, the delivery rounds, the building sites, and the yards that empty before dawn.
We keep an eye on the M27, the M3 and the A31, because that is where a fully loaded van tends to come unstuck and where there is least room to deal with it safely. Roadside, depot, workplace or customer site, if the vehicle is somewhere inside that area, we can come to it.

Questions Businesses Ask Us
Do we have to unload the van before you get there?
Usually not. We carry heavy-duty jacks intended for laden commercial vehicles, so in most cases the van can be lifted with the load still in it. If there is a reason we cannot lift it safely, soft ground or an awkward camber for instance, we will tell you what we are looking at and work out the safest way round it rather than chance the vehicle.
Will you fit the correct tyres for a van that runs at full weight?
Yes. A commercial van needs a tyre rated for the load it actually carries, so we fit to the load index and speed rating the vehicle calls for rather than whatever comes in the same size. We supply premium brands including Michelin, Continental, Bridgestone, Goodyear and Pirelli, along with Nexen, Hankook, Firestone and Kumho where running cost matters more, and we will tell you on the call which of them we can get in the size your vehicle takes. If you are not sure what is on the vehicle now, send the registration or a photo of the sidewall and we will work it out.
Can you come to our yard or depot instead of the roadside?
Yes. We attend the roadside, but we also come to yards, depots, workplaces and customer sites. For a vehicle that is off the road but not actually stranded, having us come to where it is already parked is normally the least disruptive way to deal with it, and it keeps the driver doing something useful in the meantime.
Do you work outside normal business hours?
ABS Tyres runs 24/7, 365 days a year. If your vans are out all day and only stand still at night, that is when we can fit. The vehicle is parked, nobody is waiting on it, and the job gets done before the round starts instead of interrupting it.
We run several vehicles. Can you look after all of them?
Get in touch and tell us what you run and where it is kept. We fit tyres for single vans and for businesses running more than one vehicle, and we would rather talk through what you genuinely need than agree to an arrangement before we have heard the detail of it.
