You Have Just Had a Blowout. Do This First.
A blowout usually gives you no warning. One second you are driving normally, the next there is a bang, the steering goes heavy and you are dragging the car onto the hard shoulder with your heart going. If that has just happened to you, the first thing worth saying is that you did the right thing by stopping.
Carrying on with a destroyed tyre takes your steering away from you and ruins the wheel underneath it, which turns one bill into two.
Before you do anything else, make yourself safe. Hazard lights on. If you are on a motorway or a fast dual carriageway, get everybody out through the passenger doors, away from the traffic, and stand behind the barrier or up the bank, well back from the vehicle. Leave the car where it is. If there is no hard shoulder, or you cannot get out without stepping into a live lane, stay belted in with your hazards going and ring the emergency services before you ring anybody else.
If you are on a quiet road, a driveway or a car park and you are nowhere near moving traffic, it is fine to wait in the vehicle with the doors locked.
Then think about the tyre, not before. The space-saver in your boot, if the car even came with one, is a get-you-home wheel and nothing more, and a lot of newer cars carry a can of sealant instead, which will do nothing at all for a torn sidewall. Changing a wheel yourself at the edge of live traffic, in the dark or the rain, is where people get hurt.

What Happens When You Ring, and What Happens When We Get There
You speak to the technician, not a call centre. Tell us where you are first, because that is the thing that gets a van moving: a junction number, a marker post, a road name, the name of the shop you are parked outside, or a pin dropped on WhatsApp. Then your vehicle registration, which is usually enough for us to work out the tyre you need.
If you can read the size off the sidewall from where you are standing, that helps. If you cannot, leave it. Nothing is worth walking round the traffic side of the car for.
Abu Bakar or a skilled mobile technician comes out to you in a fully equipped van, bringing the tyre you settled on over the phone. The wheel comes off on proper jacking equipment, including low-profile jacks for electric vehicles, which are heavier and fussier about where they are lifted, and heavy-duty jacks if you are in a commercial van.
The new tyre goes on and is balanced there and then on the van's dynamic balancer, so you are not left with a wheel that shakes at seventy. Nuts are torqued properly, and we take the ruined tyre away with us.
If it turns out the tyre is only punctured rather than destroyed, we will tell you, and if it is safe and legal to repair we will repair it instead of selling you a tyre. If your locking wheel nut key has gone missing or the nut is rounded off, we carry extraction sockets and can usually get it out at the roadside.
We stock premium brands including Michelin, Pirelli, Continental, Bridgestone, Goodyear, Dunlop and Yokohama, and budget and mid-range options such as Nexen, Hankook, Firestone and Kumho, so at two in the morning the brand and the budget are still your choice.

What You Pay, and When You Pay It
You pay when the job is done and you are ready to drive away, never before we arrive. Card on our mobile terminal, which takes contactless, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Visa and Mastercard, or a bank transfer, or cash if that is easier. No need to hunt for a cash machine in the dark, and nothing is taken from you over the phone before a van has turned up.
What it comes to depends on your vehicle and which tyre you choose, so we go through that with you on the call and you know the figure before we set off. If your locking wheel nut key is lost or the nut has rounded, extraction is extra work and a charge may apply for it.
We tell you that on the phone as well, before we dispatch, rather than adding it to the total once your wheel is already off.
Getting a Van to You
We run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. That takes in the middle of the night, weekends and bank holidays, because blowouts do not stick to business hours and neither do we. When you ring, we tell you honestly what we expect, based on where you are and what the roads are doing at that moment.
How long it takes depends on how far out you are, which is why the response window is set per area rather than quoted as one number for the whole coast. The window for your area is shown below. We keep an eye on the M27, M3 and A31, because knowing which way the traffic is stacked is half of getting to you sensibly.

Where We Come Out To
We are based in Southampton and cover Southampton, Hamble-le-Rice, Winchester, the New Forest, Salisbury, Bournemouth and Chichester. The M27, M3 and A31 are the routes we watch most closely, though a good share of what we do is on ordinary roads, kerbsides and slip roads rather than motorways.
It does not have to be an emergency on the hard shoulder, either. We come to homes and driveways, to workplaces and car parks, and to vehicles that have been sat on a flat since yesterday morning because nobody fancied the jack. Roadside, home or work, it is the same van and the same technician.

I have had a blowout on the motorway. What should I do first?
Get the car as far left as you can, hazard lights on, and get everybody out through the passenger side and behind the barrier, well back from the vehicle. Do not stand in front of the car and do not try to change the wheel yourself with traffic going past. If you cannot get out safely, stay belted in with your hazards on and ring the emergency services first. Once you are safe, ring us with your location and registration.
I do not know my tyre size. Is that a problem?
No. Give us your vehicle registration and we can work out what you need from that. If you happen to be somewhere safe and can read the numbers on the tyre sidewall, or send a photo on WhatsApp, that is useful, but it is not worth putting yourself near moving traffic for.
Do I have to pay anything before you come out?
No. You pay once the tyre is fitted and you are ready to drive away, by card on our mobile terminal, bank transfer or cash. We do not take payment before arrival.
I have lost my locking wheel nut key. Can you still change the tyre?
Usually, yes. Do not panic. We carry extraction sockets for lost, damaged and rounded-off locking nuts and can remove them at the roadside. It is extra work, so a charge may apply, and we quote that before we dispatch rather than afterwards.
Are you genuinely open in the middle of the night?
